Rescued Jaguar S-Type by Orleans.
The S-Type has become somewhat overlooked, mainly because its extraordinary engine allowed many owners to rack up hundreds of thousands of miles, leaving very few low-mileage and well preserved examples. The Jag STO 07 is our way of rescuing and reinterpreting a key piece of Jaguar’s lineage.
At ORLEANS, we believe it is a Jaguar worthy of rescue and of receiving a new life with a new, passionate owner, someone who dreams of owning a classic Jag without spending a fortune. Someone who wants a retro-looking, racing-inspired Jag to enjoy and take to Jaguar Club events.
This Jag STO project is based on a Jaguar S-Type 3.0 Series I. It has had a single owner (October 1999), has always been serviced at an official Jaguar service center, and has covered no more than 67,000 kilometres.

Origin of the Jag STO
The reinvention of the legendary 1960s Jaguar Mk2 through the renewed success of the 1998 S-Type .
In the mid-1990s, Jaguar had two designers: Geoff Lawson and Wayne Burgess. Both were passionate about cars, blues music and challenges, and neither of them was afraid to place a great feline at the heart of their designs... something that, sadly, no longer happens today.
At the time, Jaguar was in a critical situation. The brand had only two models in its catalogue, the XJ and the XJS, whose limited sales, sustained solely by the unwavering loyalty of true enthusiasts, were just enough to keep the liquidators at bay.

Jaguar urgently needed a new model and commissioned both designers to create a new “Baby Jag”, granting them complete creative freedom.
The new S-Type debuted in 1998. What the design team delivered was a car that captured all the appeal of the 1960s Mk2 saloon, from its bulbous front end to its sloping rear, wrapped in a thoroughly modern package.

It possessed the very essence of “Jaguarness” that both the brand and its followers so deeply longed for. Sales of the new model saved Jaguar, with the most highly regarded version being the 3-litre V6, followed years later by the STR, a 4.2-litre supercharged producing 400 hp that transformed the feline into a beast, surpassing even the magnificent XJR in every respect.
Jag STO by Orleans Cars
Today, the S-Type has been abandoned and largely ignored. At ORLEANS, however, we believe it is a Jaguar worthy of rescue reborn for a new owner as: the Jag STO. A limited, numbered edition. One number, one colour. With a retro, competition inspired spirit reminiscent of the 1960s Jaguar Mk2, a saloon on the streets, a race car on British circuits. More power. More feline than ever. A new exhaust system. Lowered suspension. Wider wheel stance. Leather bonnet straps. Analogue chronometers in the cabin. Even the classic black headlight tapes used to prevent shattering on the track. All of this is crafted by Orleans Cars, a brand devoted to Jaguars & American Cars for over 30 years.
The new Jag STO is a sporty modern classic aimed at a young, rebellious spirit with a classic soul, someone who refuses to follow imposed conventions. The Jag STO is for those who dream of owning a classic Jaguar without spending a fortune. For drivers seeking a retro, racing inspired car to truly enjoy behind the wheel during Jaguar Club outings, with absolute peace of mind and reliability.
